Finding joy in the simple daily routine of taking care of our skin, from head to toe, is the basis for Samura Botanicals. The humble act of cleansing our faces that shine out to the world and then nourishing them deserves products as clean, pure, and natural as we are. The product lines offered by Samura have grown out of our desire to create and use products with ingredients that are as close to their naturally occurring composition as possible, without distraction from unnecessary additives of any kind. Using ingredients in their most wholistic form ensures nature’s wisdom and complexity are preserved and available for our skin’s benefit. This approach allows us to create multifunctional products designed to deeply hydrate and plump the skin, brighten and even out skin tone, rebalance sebum production, support the skin’s natural process of cell turnover, and lock in moisture with just a few products. We want a simple skincare routine that cleans, nourishes, and helps rejuvenate our skin as we age with as few steps (and products) as possible. That is what we strive to bring to you at Samura.
We are three women, my mom, myself, and my daughter, who value the connection to nature for health inside and out. A Note About Product Color: our products are made from plants, fruits, and seeds found in nature. Because they are minimally processed, without chemicals, they often retain their natural color. That means Samura products are rarely white. The same product you have grown to love may vary in color from purchase to purchase because the raw ingredients have natural color variations. For example: Beauty and Grace Restorative Facial Cream varies in color from butter yellow to mango orange due to the Buriti Seed Oil. Buriti is the richest source of beta carotene, a form of Vitamin A, that converts to retinol on the skin, making it so effective at restoring collagen production, and deeply hydrating the skin to smooth and soothe aging skin.

Many of us are taught to categorize our skin (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, etc.) in order to narrow down the choices of skincare products best suited to our skin type.
At Samura Botanicals, we believe products created out of plant-derived ingredients with many different constituents intact benefit a wide range of skin types with unique needs. For example, someone with acne-prone skin might find it counter-intuitive to use an oil cleanser thinking that too much oil/sebum production is the reason for their acne. It could be that the skin is out of balance from products drying out the skin triggering more sebum production which contributes to clogged pores and possible acne.
The daily habit of cleansing our skin, applying a nourishing, regenerative serum and locking that in with a moisturizing, hydrating, and healing face cream, twice a day will transform the person looking back at you in the mirror.
